Autonomy engineering
A company-specific operating system, not a generic chatbot.
Generic AI has broad ability but no durable understanding of your company’s current state, relationships, prior exceptions, operating objectives, or authority rules. Eumenon reconstructs that missing state, compiles how important decisions were made, connects approved tools, and tests the successor before it receives power to act.
Before the system can decide, it must know what was true at that moment.
A decision that looks obvious after the result may have been uncertain when it was made. Eumenon keeps decision-time facts separate from facts that arrived later.
- Time-aware company history
- Events are placed in order so the successor can distinguish what was known, promised, available, restricted, or unresolved at each point.
- Relationship state
- People and accounts retain the history of commitments, exceptions, trust, friction, recovery, and prior outcomes that can change the next decision.
- Source and confidence
- Every important fact keeps its origin, timing, permission, and confidence so uncertain reconstruction is not presented as certainty.
- Current operating state
- The successor retrieves live facts through approved tools instead of assuming that the historical record is still current.
From company state to reversible operating authority.
Select a step to see what it contributes. The architecture separates memory, judgment recovery, tools, evaluation, and authority so each can be tested and governed.
RECONSTRUCT COMPANY STATE
COMPILE OPERATING JUDGMENT
OPERATE, TEST, AND GOVERN
A decision episode preserves the anatomy of judgment.
The successor needs more than the final answer. It needs the state, options, objectives, limits, and consequences that made the answer sensible.
State and alternatives
- Facts available at decision time
- Relationship and operating context
- Options considered
- Rejected alternatives and why
Judgment and authority
- Active objectives and tradeoffs
- Chosen action and confidence
- Downside if wrong
- Approval or escalation boundary
Correction and outcome
- Founder edit or rejection
- Reason the proposal changed
- Observed consequence
- What the system should test next
Eumen asks about the real decision, not a blank interview question.
People explain judgment more accurately when they can see the actual context. Eumen is the voice and review surface that presents the episode and records what the founder adds.
-
What did you notice first?
Recover the signal that mattered before the visible rule or final outcome.
-
Which option did you reject?
Preserve negative decisions so the successor does not repeat paths the founder already ruled out.
-
What would have changed the call?
Identify the flip point that separates one policy from another.
-
When should this stop or escalate?
Turn uncertainty, novelty, consequence, and permission into an explicit boundary.
Observing live work and acting in business tools are separate permissions.
Eumenon first captures only the approved evidence needed to understand how work happens. Permission to use a tool or change company state is granted later, by action class and risk.
-
Connect records and current state
Approved APIs, read-only database access, exports, archives, and files reconstruct history and retrieve current facts without creating permission to act.
-
Observe approved live work
When records alone miss the judgment, approved browser or desktop observation can capture the relevant screen state, draft changes, timing, decision moments, and corrections. This records how work happens; it does not authorize the successor to perform it.
-
Grant tool use separately
Once a class of work is ready, approved application interfaces are the preferred path for structured actions, validation, permissions, and reviewable results.
-
Use a controlled browser or computer when necessary
Legacy portals and native applications may require a constrained workbench with allowlisted destinations, isolated credentials, action logs, approval gates, and rollback where possible.
Improvement is versioned, evaluated, and reversible.
A correction can reveal a fact, change a policy, create a new test, or justify specialized training. It should not silently rewrite the whole system.
- Operating memory
- Add or correct company facts, relationship state, precedent, and outcome history while retaining source and revision history.
- Decision policy
- Update objectives, risk limits, escalation rules, and preferred responses when the correction reveals a repeatable rule.
- Evaluation set
- Turn difficult cases, mistakes, rejected proposals, and recoveries into tests the successor must continue to pass.
- Specialized optimization
- Use reviewed examples for narrower training only where the data, privacy, economics, and measurement quality justify it.
The successor earns autonomy by class and keeps it only while the evidence holds.
Cases that were not used to build or improve the system test new work. Live operation tests stability. Severe errors, missed escalations, changing conditions, or drift can narrow authority even after a class has advanced.
Eumenon pursues full autonomy by assembling proven decision classes with explicit limits, evaluation, and recovery paths.
